Considering the Fauve painters, the wild, I think of a young deer. How it may represent the untamed, yet vulnerable. A gentleness within the undomesticated. Nathan Leemis, a fellow painter and friend is colour-impaired. Lacks cones for certain shades of green and red. For years I questioned how his vision resided upon most truest. Yellow and blue were his strengths. Upon gazing at an A.E. Backus painting at the museum I remarked in front of him and his new girl how the pinks in the clouds were iconically Beanie. He seemed perplexed, and it was then I saw in his expression honesty. A guise of colour in the hue of pink. How then might a design of the same be viewed to him. A fawn disguised in grey.
